Naomi Nakano-Matsumoto, Immediate Past President

Pronouns: she/her/hers

Naomi is serving her second term as President and Trustee for the Fremont Union High School District Board. She is a Social Worker by profession. Naomi served 2 terms as President for APISBMA and currently serves as Past President. She has active leadership roles in the Santa Clara County School Board Members Association. She was appointed to serve on the 2025 CSBA AEC Planning Committee, and while President/VP of APISBMA served on the CSBA Council of Presidents.


Naomi has co-founded several nonprofit organizations and has been an active volunteer/board member of local, state-wide and national community organizations. She was appointed to the County Commission on the Status of Women and the Housing and Community Development Advisory Committee. Naomi has participated in several highly coveted leadership and DEI programs.
