Amy Koo has served on the board of the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District since 2013 and was re-elected to a second term in November. She is a Delegate Assembly member representing Region 5 and is on the board of directors for the San Mateo County School Boards Association. Outside of school board duties, she is a mother of two boys in 6th grade and 2nd grade and works full time as a Director of Managed Markets Analytics at Gilead Sciences, a pharmaceutical company headquartered in Foster City. At Gilead, she serves as the Business Impact Co-chair for the Women at Gilead employee resource group. Amy is a 4th generation San Franciscan who graduated from Lowell High School and holds a BS degree from MIT and MBA/MS degrees from Stanford. She has a passion for diversity and inclusion and ensuring that APIs are well represented in leadership roles both in business and politics. Amy has served as the Treasurer in her first year on the APISBMA board and as VP, wants to see APISBMA play a more active role as a support structure for building a pipeline of API leaders.
