Darrel Woo was recently elected to a third term with the Sacramento City Unified School District. He served on the CSBA Board of Directors for 3 years and Delegate Assembly for 4 years. He completed the CSBA Masters in Governance (“MIG”) and have served on the Charter Task Force, Annual Education Conference Committee, Finance Committee, Golden Bell Committee. Darrel attended University of California, at Berkeley and Lincoln Law School of Sacramento. Retired from the State of California in 2014, after 38 plus years. Appointed by Governor Brown in July 2017, to the Collateral Recovery Disciplinary Review Committee and subsequently appointed to the Chief of the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services in July 2018. In addition, he was recently appointed to the Committee of Credentials, California Teacher Credentialing. Darrel feels there is a need for API Leaders amongst School Board members, and a need and desire to collaborate and grow, given our shared experiences, background and leadership positions in our respective communities.
